Compare two corresponding documents

  1. Export one purchase order and its corresponding invoice to supported CSV or XLSX. Preserve the original documents.
  2. Load both files locally, confirm the CSV delimiter and inspect the preview.
  3. Map distinct columns for item ID, quantity and unit price; optionally description, net line total and currency.
  4. Select the single currency and text decimal separator. Typed XLSX numbers are read independently of locale. Optionally type each document's declared net total. Confirm that both files contain net line amounts before tax, discounts and shipping.
  5. Compare, then review every flagged group against the originals. Demo: up to 20 rows per whole file, no truncation or exports. Full: up to 10,000 rows and report exports.

Try the sample files

Purchase-order CSV · Supplier-invoice CSV. The built-in sample contains deliberate price, quantity, line-total, missing, extra and duplicate issues. These are synthetic data.

Exact matching and duplicates

Identifiers are case-sensitive, with no trimming or fuzzy matching. Leading/trailing whitespace and empty IDs are invalid. Store XLSX identifiers as text; numeric cells cannot preserve leading-zero intent. Duplicate IDs on either side are ambiguous; the tool does not choose a pairing. Missing and extra items are visible. Quantities and unit prices are compared exactly, even when rounded line totals happen to agree.

Calculations and net totals

Use unsigned decimals without thousands separators, exponent notation or currency symbols. Select point or comma explicitly for CSV and text cells. Typed XLSX numeric cells use their native locale-independent values, including exact scientific storage within the supported precision. Quantity and unit price support at most six decimal places and 999999.999999 each. Multiplication uses deterministic C# decimal arithmetic. Each line rounds midpoint away from zero to currency precision, then document totals sum the rounded lines: USD/EUR/GBP/CAD/AUD/CHF 2 decimals; JPY 0; KWD 3. Supplied line totals and declared document totals must already use that precision.

Each document shows calculated net, sum of supplied net line totals when mapped, and declared net when entered. Declared delta is declared minus supplied-line sum, or declared minus calculated sum when line totals are not mapped. A supplied-versus-calculated line discrepancy remains visible. Invalid numeric or currency input makes aggregate totals unavailable; incomplete sums are never shown as complete. Duplicate source rows remain in source totals, while matching stays blocked for their ID.

File compatibility

UTF-8 CSV, optional BOM, explicit comma/semicolon/tab delimiter, standard quoted fields and embedded newlines. XLSX: exactly one visible worksheet, header in row 1, text identifiers, text/numeric values only. No formulas or cached-formula substitution, macros, external relationships, hyperlinks, embedded objects, merged cells, hidden rows/columns/sheets, booleans, error cells or date-formatted numeric cells. Export a clean sheet of explicit values when needed.

5 MB per file; 10,000 data rows (20 in demo); 64 columns; 16,384 characters per cell; 25 MB expanded XLSX; 200 package entries. No legacy XLS, encrypted files, PDF invoice parsing or OCR.

Reports and privacy

The full edition exports a formula-neutralized UTF-8 CSV discrepancy report and a PDF rendered locally with the browser's available fonts. PDF pages preserve visible Unicode text; the searchable text layer covers ASCII and numerical values. PDF export stops explicitly above 200 pages; use the complete CSV report for larger inputs. Font coverage depends on the browser and operating system. Neither report is an accounting import file or payment instruction.

Inputs remain in browser-tab memory. There is no file upload, browser storage of input rows, telemetry or third-party document processing. Reset, configuration changes and file changes discard the prior report. Closing or reloading the tab discards the session. Website account/payment services are separate from file processing.

Scope and release status

No tax or discount inference, credit notes, split or combined invoice matching, receiving verification, FX, accounting integration, ERP, automatic vendor payment or AI accounting decisions. Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari with WebAssembly are the intended browsers; see the dated checkpoint for actual tested engines.

One-time USD 29 purchase plus applicable tax grants permanent online 1.x access. The free demo accepts your own files of up to 20 rows each; the full edition supports 10,000 rows and report exports. Checkout is available when the verified commercial offer is active. An existing Supplier Update Guard purchase does not grant Invoice Match Guard access.
