FREE ONLINE TOOL · HTTP API

ZPL to PDF converter.

Turn Zebra ZPL into a print-ready PDF or PNG. Paste ZPL or upload files, preview every label at 203, 300 or 600 dpi, and download one multi-page PDF. Nothing is installed and your labels are never stored.

One label runs from ^XA to ^XZ. Several labels in a row become several pages.
.zpl, .txt or .prn. A .zip with many ZPL files needs Pro.

HOW IT WORKS

From ZPL to a PDF you can print anywhere

  1. Paste or upload ZPL. Exported from your carrier, WMS, ERP or label designer: anything a Zebra printer would accept.
  2. Match the printer. Pick the label size and the dpi the ZPL was written for. ZPL positions are in dots, so the dpi decides how big everything is.
  3. Preview, then download. Check each label on screen, then download one PDF with a page per label, or PNG images.

Automating it? The ZPL to PDF API does the same with one HTTP request.

How do I convert ZPL to PDF?

Paste your ZPL (everything from ^XA to ^XZ) or upload a .zpl or .txt file, choose the label size and the printer's dpi, then select Download PDF. Every label becomes one page at its real size, so the PDF prints 1:1 on a laser or label printer.

Which label sizes and print densities are supported?

Any size from 0.4 to 15 inches (10 to 381 mm) per side, with presets for 4×6, 4×3, 4×2, 3×2, 2.25×1.25 and 2×1 inch labels. Choose 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), 300 dpi (12 dots/mm) or 600 dpi (24 dots/mm) to match the Zebra printer the ZPL was written for.

Can I convert many labels at once?

Yes. A file with many ^XA…^XZ blocks becomes a multi-page PDF. The free plan converts 5 labels per request and 50 per day; Pro converts up to 500 labels per request and accepts a zip of .zpl files.

Are my labels stored?

No. Labels are rendered in memory on our server and discarded as soon as the file is sent back. We do not store, log or look at label content. Only label counts are kept to apply the daily and monthly limits.

Is there a ZPL to PDF API?

Yes. POST your ZPL to https://blznworks.com/api/zpl/render and get a PDF or PNG back. Small requests work without a key; a Pro license key unlocks large batches, zip input and a monthly quota. See the API documentation for curl, C# and JavaScript examples.

Which ZPL commands work?

Text and scalable fonts (^A, ^CF), fields and blocks (^FO, ^FT, ^FB, ^FD, ^FH), boxes, lines, circles and ellipses (^GB, ^GC, ^GE, ^GD), graphics (^GF, ~DG, ^XG, ^IM), stored formats (^DF/^XF) and common barcodes including Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, Interleaved 2 of 5, Codabar, QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec and MaxiCode. Printer-only commands such as ^PQ are ignored and listed as warnings.
